  • Four Directions Coalition

Welcome Four Directions Coalition is an Indigenous and Ally led organization formed on Turtle Island. We united to help facilitate a cultural shift in society, to bring awareness, and help the many communities who are facing serious crises today. Many Allies rallied behind the Indigenous community in numbers never before seen after the discovery of 215 children in unmarked graves in Kamloops, British Columbia. While many would like to support Indigenous rights - plenty are left unequipped with the knowledge on the daily battles Indigenous peoples and Indigenous communities face. The Coalition is an ever evolving group that is always welcoming new members; we are open to your contributions, wherever you feel you can best help. Your knowledge, advise, and ideas help shape the future of Four Directions. (Download the Spaces by Wix app ( Android / iOS ) to join Four Directions Forum .) The group has chosen the areas we are going to begin working on and have broken into counsils. Each counsil has co-leaders, but needs more members to help fill out the team. If you're interested in any of these topics or have other ideas you want to add, please reply here or come to our weekly Zoom meeting for new members on Sundays 2pm CDT. Education/Ally Academy (Odelle, Star, Bailey) In this counsil, the members work together to create and find educational materials of different types, from those who are auditory learners to those who are reading learners. This material may be helpful to anyone, but it is mainly focused on educating allies. Culture (Hailey, Kawika) This counsil is currently focused on making videos about issues that affect the Indigenous of Turtle Island. It also plans on contacting individual tribes and making a video about each one with information straight from the source. We may know we are a diverse people, but learning some of the specific differences has the potential to help not allies but Natives as well. Communication/Website/Social Media (Bailey, Elisabeth) This is pretty self-explanatory, but you don't have to be able to code. You can make digital graphics, run our social media accounts to hype the site, and more. Water (most of the group) We are still slowly working on Operation Rising Tide (although that may also be renamed), our ambitious project to get clean water to at least one reserve in Canada and one reservation in the US. We would love to help so many more, but this all depends on how much money we can fundraise.

We would love to have you. Any time you could invest would be appreciated. If you can't commit any time until the fall, but want to keep up with what is going on, you can come to our meetings on Sunday at 2pm CDT and then be up to speed when you are able to dive in in the fall. The Culture Counsil could use some help if that piques your interest at all.

  • Communications Consolidation

We're closing down our discord server and encouraging those folks to move over here. So please welcome them, and know that we are working hard on better synchronizing our communications channels! Thanks,
